Tuesday 20th January 2009On Saturday I spent the day biking and running around the venue for the iROC - a brand new adventure race for 2009.
The iROC has a new format - six different races over a weekend of mountain biking, fell running and orienteering. All races will start from the same 'base camp' style event centre and camping area, which itself will have loads of things going on, food stalls, a big marquee, bar...
I am helping to plan the mountain bike races so I was up to have a specific look at the trails. I drove up from a wet and blustery Otley to the, still blustery, but sunny northern pennines.
The event area is set on a hillside with loads of trails, climbs and descents. I had a great time riding and the scenery is superb - a top race venue!

I will be up some more times before the race on the 18-19th April.
