Wednesday 18th February 2009Had a great day on Gogarth today. After me, Sam and Rach got benighted on the route Gogarth over the weekend. Quite funny really, we slightly under estimated the route, and rather wet conditions. Me and Sam ended up hauling a traumatized Rachel up the last pitch (which turned out to be dripping wet and quite possibly a little too steep) in total darkness with only one head torch between us. despite this it was a great day enjoyed by all, in hindsight at least :).
All happy as Larry, until darkness swallowed us!
Well done Rachel!
Today was a slightly different Gogarth adventure, me and matt thought we would try and tackle 'Hunger E5 6a'. Despite the very greasy conditions I managed to only just make the crux (first) pitch. Despite the huge weight of uncertainty that my hands where actually going to grip onto the slimy rock on virtually every move. A stunning pitch with a burly finish, climbing through the roof with a really cool undercut hand jam.

Matt beasting himself surmounting the overhang.
Unfortunately the next pitch was sopping wet so we ended up finishing up Positron, passing mammoth and Dinosaur to get there.
We then escaped off so mat could catch his lecture at 4.
