Monday 10th January 2011Our local wall, Keswick Climbing Centre, holds a bouldering competition on the first Thursday of every month. So last Thursday after work all of us at the Planetfear store headed down to the wall to do battle with the multi-coloured holds. The comp caters for all abilities with three levels of difficulty; easy, intermediate and advanced.
Dan McCann pulling hard!
Store manager , Mark, together with Alec and James, were all still nursing injuries and opted to enter the medium graded comp. Despite creaking joints and painful shoulders they managed to send most of the problems within the allocated three attempts.
Ben Freeman, Dan McCann and myself entered the advanced comp. Although Dan and I found the problems more than challenging , Ben managed to cruise through the comp and flashed all but one of the problems. With a near perfect 90 points Ben shared first place with Caven Walker and is well set to end up on top of the winter bouldering league.
