The SALEWA brand reached a new dimension at the beginning of the millennium, something that was demonstrated not only by the creation of its own squad of athletes, but also by the international SALEWA alpineXtrem team and the development and continuous improvement of its top quality products.
For winter 2009/2010, the SALEWA mountain sports brand is presenting a clothing range without parallel on the market: alpineXtrem Pro. After countless hours of development and testing, hundreds of revisions to the design, after hard testing at the north face of the Eiger, on the granite and ice walls of the Taku Towers in Alaska, and high climbs on the Ama Dablam in Nepal, the alpineXtrem pro squad presented the result: eight men’s models, six women’s models and three unisex models, developed by professionals for professionals, that have been manufactured for the ultimate in daily and professional usage on the mountain.
Leadership is shown in a unique product range; it is also demonstrated by the manner in which a brand is perceived – regionally, nationally and internationally. A new SALEWA headquarters will be set up in Bolzano by autumn 2011 that will set new standards far beyond the borders of South Tyrol. New standards of architecture, as well as new standards with regard to the awareness of and access to the world of experience that a mountain sports brand can open up to its customers, suppliers and staff. A new climbing hall has been integrated into the overall concept, which – with a climbing area of 2000 m2 and a height of 24 m – will be the largest in Italy. Yet it is not only its spatial dimensions that are worthy of note – its new ideas and approaches, including a giant entrance to ensure an optimum fresh air supply and rear-ventilated facade for the best possible interior climate, are equally impressive.
