Friday 24th February 2012While in the Cairngorms, planetFear editor Dave MacFarlane talked to sponsored Mountain Equipment athlete Andy Turner on his experience of climbing The Long Hope, a 500 metre cliff rising straight out of the sea on the Island of Hoy off Orkney. Described as the 'hardest sea cliff climb in the world' the 350 metre route was originally climbed 40 years ago by Ed Drummond and Oliver Hill over a period of seven days and 25 pitches. Dave Macleod free'd the route, climbing it in one day over nine pitches.
Matt Pycroft was filming the route with Hot Aches and provided planetFear with this exclusive footage from the route.
