A new film venture Polished Project is the combination of the talents of Lukasz Warzecha and Wojtek Kozakiewicz. The advent of digital media has managed to influence all sectors of the media industry, not least the adventure sports sectors, Warzecha can be considered to be at the tip of the UK's climbing photography scene, producing images worthy of magazine front covers and international publications, changing the face of climbing photography Warzecha has teamed up with renowned outdoors photographer Kozakiewicz - known already for his slack and highlining videos produced for Discovery Channel Canada - by working together they are now bringing their first collaboration which focusses on the career of DaveMacLeod, wildly regarded as one of the world's best all-round climbers.
MacLeod has been a leading influence in the UK climbing scene for almost twenty years, establishing cutting edge trad and winter routes in Scotland and is best known for his first ascents Rhapsody E11, Echo Wall E11 and most recently The Longhope Route E10/11 - the first free ascent of the largest sea cliff in the UK.
The trailer for 'Dave' is a beautifully shot and edited showpiece for the feature length film that will follow later in the year. Polished Project aim to release the feature to multiple mountain festivals and 'for 2013, a full length film will be released and made available as a free online viral video.' Warzecha states:
"Our upcoming film, Dave, will be telling a story of Dave's climbing career. The film centres around Dave's exploits in the Magic Wood - climbing New Base Line 8b+, Mystic Stylez 8c and others - and at the same time it touches strongly through interviews on Dave's career and life. The final piece would be Dave's portrait as a professional climber.'
