FAQs
Q: What is Sage Pay, Verified by Visa and Mastercard Secure Code?
A: We hate fraud as much as you, so in order to combat it we’ve got together with one of the world’s leading secure payment systems, Sage Pay, to ensure that your details are completely safe. The system uses Visa and Mastercard’s very own security initiatives, Verified by Visa and Mastercard Secure Code, to link you to your card via an easy to set up password, which acts like a PIN number – just like in a high street store.
Once set up, your card can be used online with thousands of other stores using this system to make totally secure payments. Giving your details over the phone is far less secure.
Q: What happens to my card details once I’ve submitted my order?
A: Your details are stored on a highly secure, password protected server at Sage Pay and encrypted, so that neither our nor Sage Pay staff can view them. Entrance to Sage Pay is controlled by iris scanners – just like in the movies!
Q: What do you do with my information?
A: Your billing and delivery address details are stored on a secure server, which is password protected and only accessible by our staff (please note we do not have access to your card or banking details, see above). We will only use your information to contact you regarding an order, never to cold call.
Q: Will my details be passed on to anyone?
A: We will only ever release your personal details in compliance with English law and to associated reputable companies who will help to process your order and who are also required to securely store your information in accordance with UK Data Protection and consumer legislation.
Q: Will I be sent any direct mail, newsletters or junkmail?
A: We may from time to time send very select marketing materials with orders, and only ever in line with our Green Policy. We do send newsletters via email with product offers, sales and outdoor-related events information, approximately twice a month. If you prefer not to receive these you can specify upon subscription to the site or alternatively unsubscribe in the Update Details section of your account. Alternatively, please contact us and we will remove your details for you.
