Tuesday 12th June 2007“That’s utterly brilliant!” my partner Heather exclaimed when she first saw this stove. At 68g (as checked on our postal weighing scales) the new Primus Micron Ti Stove is the lightest gas stove on the market.
I’ve given this stove a thorough testing and if you are looking for a lightweight gas stove then there really is only one choice. With an RRP of £45 it’s not cheap and some people will be drawn to products like the MSR Pocket Rocket which has an RRP of £30 but it is almost 20g heavier! That may sound silly but every gram counts when you are travelling light.
The additional cost of the Primus Micron Ti is due in part to the use of titanium, but it’s also obvious that the build quality is superb.
This stove is going to be ideal for any kind of lightweight adventure whether running, biking or climbing.
My initial thoughts are all positive… there is a new king in town!
