As you might expect there is plenty about North America by North Americans and I wonder at the seemingly endless great wilderness peaks that exist in and around that continent. There is also plenty by major foreign players such as Humar on Nuptse’s West Face, Efimov of Makalu’s West Face and Mick Fowler on Changabang’s North Face though this had been published previously in High.
The new editor, Christian Beckwith, who took over the difficult job after Ad Carter died is doing an excellent job. My only cringe was reading about the nonsensical Goodie-Two-Shoes activities of The American Safe Climbing Asociation. Yes, there really is such an organization and, as they say, it could only happen in America.
