Tuesday 1st March 2011Greetings jokers, smokers and midnight tokers - I've been out and about the last few days and here's what I've seen and done.
Saturday was in Lochain in the Northern Corries, a few teams in there too on the following: Ventilater, Milky Way, Andromeda, Astroturfer, Central Crack Route, Ewen Buttress, and Savage Slit, all in good condition, but again with this mild patch we are about to have that could change. What was interesting was the gaping crack forming at the top of the great slab - check out the pics.

and in close-up

Today, Monday, Rahul, Simon and I headed up to Lochan in Glen Coe.

A few teams up there on the usual suspects: Dorsal Arête, Boomerang Gully, Spiral Gully, NC Gully, also looked like a team was heading for Twisting Gully as well. Plenty of snow up there, we did NC and had a fab time.

Good belays, a bit banked out, but just a great route to be on, and such a stunning day.

Not sure what we are up to tomorrow as the temps are about to go through the roof for the day. But as per, will report in as and when, have packed me wellies and snorkel is at the ready.
On a sad note, fellow guide and friend THE BIG FELLA Chris Dale will be on his final journey tomorrow, Tuesday, in Carlisle. Hope the rock is dry and the ice is endless, sadly missed by ALL. Take care Big Fella.
Have fun and be safe
