Dave and Trevor from the UK are mountain biking. They’ve brought their own bikes after seeing our advertisement in Singletrackworld. We've shown them some of our videos of MTB rides here in Sardinia so they can see what the mountain bike riding is like here and today we've given them route descriptions and GPS files and they're off on their first ride.
Gill and Ian, also from the UK, are into road cycling and climbing. They'll hire road bikes from Clait and Melina and today went to the Porto di Santa Maria where Anne and Peter joined them in the afternoon, talking 3 local girls who wanted to try climbing for the first time. Holger and Arno from Germany who are walking the Selvaggio Blu and arrived by bus – we checked out the times for them from the not-very-easy-to-use ARST web site. We bought gas for them, and will give them advice on the route; we normally suggest an easier version than the route described in the Guide to the Selvaggio Blu translated by Peter which doesn’t require climbing and abseiling, but Holger and Arno will do the full route.
We show people of the route so they can decide whether or not to do this easy but exposed scramble or an easier variant. Tomorrow we take them to leave water along the route before they set off, and at the same time give Dave and Trevor a lift up to the Golgo plateau to do the ride along Pissu e Serra.
Karsten and Mette from Denmark, who’ve hired mountain bikes and are also walking. There are currently no comments on this article.
