Monday 1st August 2011In October Cicerone publishes the Paddy Dillon walking guide to Sardinia with guide to 50 day walks in the mountainous north east of Sardinia, in the Mediterranean off the coast of Italy. Includes a mixture of classic and little-known routes for all abilities including exploring the limestone Ogliastra coast, the Golgo plateau, the wild mountains of Genneragentu and Punta La Marmora. We helped Paddy with lots of suggestions for walks when he stayed with us at The Lemon House in 2009 and 2010 to write the guide. Here he is looking over the Codula di Sisine

We continue, as well, to document new walks. People staying here in the summer often want to combine a walk with going to a beach. Cala Goloritzè is an easy 1-hour-down-90-minutes-back walk and the beach is truly spectacular

Last week Peter and our guest John did for the first time the walk from Molimentu on the Golgo plateau to the Lattone sheepfolds (where we sometimes leave water for people walking the multi-day Selvaggio Blu trekking) and then down to the beach of Cala Mariolu/Ispuligidenie. We saw no-one for 3 hours and then the beach was mobbed with people who'd arrived by boat
