Sardinian handicrafts aren't limited to wooden masks. Peter takes a tip from the locals and makes a clipstick ("la canna", from "canna da pesca", fishing rod) to take the stress out of working routes.

| Ogliastra, Sardinia, offers the widest possible range of climbing for the summer, from 5's and easy 6's to 8's and 9(?)'s waiting for their FFA, all at shady crags at 2000-3500 feet altitude, with few people around and non-polished rock. It could be Snowdonia or Scotland, except that from May to September it hardly rains and you can have a Mediterranean beach holiday as well. |
